MY STORY

MY NAME. MY NUMBER. MY MINDSET.

Hey, I’m Beckham. I wear #32, so that’s where B32 comes from. B for Beckham. 32 for my number. But B32 means a lot more to me than just my name and number.

WHY ME VS. ME.

I GET IN MY HEAD A LOT.

I compare myself to other athletes.

I see what people are doing on social media, what they’re doing on the field, how fast they are, how good they are, or where they are compared to me.

Sometimes I start thinking I should already be where they are.

Then one day, one of my coaches sent me a voice memo that changed the way I looked at all of it.

He told me to stop comparing myself to what I see on social media or what I see other athletes doing on the field.

THE MESSAGE THAT STUCK

I CAN’T CHANGE YESTERDAY, BUT I CAN CHOOSE WHAT I DO TODAY. EVERY REP, EVERY DECISION, EVERY DAY IS A CHANCE TO BE BETTER THAN I WAS BEFORE.
That’s when ME VS. ME. really started meaning something to me.

MY COMPETITION IS ME.

ME VS. ME.

ME VS. ME. reminds me that my competition isn’t the athlete next to me. It’s me.

AM I BETTER THAN I WAS YESTERDAY?

DID I PUT IN THE WORK TODAY?

DID I GIVE MY BEST EFFORT?

DID I TAKE ANOTHER STEP FORWARD?

I train a lot, and I’ve learned that getting better doesn’t happen all at once. It happens one workout, one rep, and one day at a time.

WHY THE MOUNTAINS

YOUR PATH IS YOURS.

You can spend so much time looking at somebody else’s mountain that you forget you’re climbing your own.

Everyone’s path looks different. Everyone starts somewhere different. And everyone reaches their next level at a different time.

The only thing I can control is the work I put into mine.

FOCUS ON YOUR OWN PATH.
